Our Club de Golf Son Servera is the only social club and the second-oldest golf club in the Balearic Islands, founded in 1967. Son Servera Golf Club's golf course design

John Harris and Francisco López Segalés designed the Son Servera Golf Club course. It is characterised by its diversity and its integration with the environment. The course has an extension of almost 6,000 metres, with wide fairways and rough that allow a comfortable game, but also with obstacles that require precision and skill.

On the other hand, it is surrounded by the typical vegetation of the island, with oaks, pines, olive trees, carob trees and palm trees that provide shade and coolness to the course. The course also has lakes and bunkers that add complexity and beauty to the game. The holes are of all types, with different lengths, shapes and orientations, making each hole unique and different. And, of course, the course has alternative shot options to suit different skill levels.

Club de Golf Son Servera’s course is not an easy course to play, and it presents players with several challenges. Some of the difficulties that can be encountered are:

• The wind: The course is located close to the sea, which makes the wind a factor to be taken into account, especially on the most exposed holes. The wind can change the direction and distance of shots, as well as affecting the stability of the player.
• Water: The course has seven lakes, which come into play on ten of the eighteen holes. Water can mean a risk of losing the ball, but also an opportunity to make a good approach or a spectacular recovery shot.
• The greens: The course has high quality greens with an Agrostis and Seaside II surface and a medium to high speed. The greens are wide and have different slopes, which requires a good reading and a good putt to sink the ball.
• The bunkers: The course has several bunkers, both sand and grass, which protect the greens and fairways. The bunkers can be a hindrance to your progress, but they can also be an ally to slow the ball down or avoid a more serious obstacle.

The Pine Trap

However, if there is one thing that stands out on our golf course, it is “The Pine Trap”, which comprises holes 3 to 7. These holes are very narrow as they are set in the original pine forest. They also have large slopes and are considered by many to be the most difficult holes on the course, but also the most beautiful and enjoyable.
